Over the last few weeks P6 have been entertaining visitors from around the world. The programme is sponsored by Ards and North Down borough council and seeks to teach young people that you can’t judge people from what you see.
Each week the visitor stood silently in our class while we listed what we though they did as a job, where they might have been born, what language they speak, what they like to eat and what their hobbies are. Then we heard the real answers when they shared with us.
We learnt so much from their visits about their countries, their languages and some of their customs. We even got to sing in German. It was a great experience and we lovely following it up in art sessions in school.
