Primary 5, LSC2 and LSC3 went to Hillsborough Castle on Tuesday 28th April. We had an immersive workshop with ‘Lady Charlotte Hill’ who transported us back to the time of King George III and explained about her family’s longstanding feud with the Stewart family. She showed us different rooms in the house and explained about the many symbols of power and influence on display. We learned a great deal about power and politics in the Georgian eras. We also got to see some amazing artwork and photographs of members of the Royal Family - both past and present.
After lunch in the Learning Centre, we were able to explore the grounds and play in the beautiful sunshine. It was very kind of ‘Lady Charlotte’ to give us permission to use her gardens for our leisure time.
